Matsuri is the Japanese word for festival, and that is exactly what this game looks and feels like--a festival. The visuals are fantastic and the slot has an overall summer night feel to it. You can even see the festival that’s well under way in the town depicted in the backdrop. The slot has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 25 paylines. It has an energetic soundtrack and offers several bonus features that keep it exciting. Even better news is that it can be played on both desktop and mobile devices.

Gameplay begins with setting your bets. You may start by setting your preferred coin denomination by clicking on the +/- tabs on the control panel at the bottom of the screen. You may choose a denomination from 0.25 to 100.00. To set the reels into motion, click on the Spin button to the right of the coin denomination tabs. For a chosen number of uninterrupted spins, click on the Autoplay button to the right of the Spin button.

Feature Symbols

You will not see any of the usual playing card symbols in this game, as all game symbols are theme-related. There is a stick of dango dumplings, a bowl of takoyaki, a cup of kakigori, an Asian fan, a rosette, and three Japanese ladies. One lady holds a fan in her hand, another holds a mask, and the third holds a toffee apple.

The game’s Wild symbol is represented by the fire lantern. This symbol is the most lucrative, as it can help you win as much as 25 times your stake. It can also substitute for any of the other base game symbols, with the exception of the Bonus symbols. The game’s Bonus symbols are represented by a festival mask and a pair of Koi carps.

Bonus Rounds

One bonus feature that makes this game exciting is the Matsuri Festival Free Spins feature. This feature is activated when you land at least three festival mask symbols anywhere on the first, third, and fifth reels. You will be rewarded with eight free spins. If you land another festival mask during a free spin, you get two more free spins. You can get as many as 20 additional free spins while this feature is at play.

If you manage to land a Wild symbol while this feature is activated, the Wild will fill all positions on the reel on which it lands. It will then move one reel to the left after each spin, until it falls off the end.

Another exciting bonus feature you will find in this game is the Kingyo Sukui feature. This is activated when you land three of the Koi carp symbols anywhere on the second, third, or fourth reel. A picking game is then activated, where you get to collect fish from a pond. The fish you collect has corresponding cash prizes, and you keep collecting until your paper spoon breaks, or until you catch all the fish.
