Mahjong 88 is an unconventional slot powered by Play N’ Go. It can take a bit of time to get used to, but is a pretty exciting game to play.

Gameplay begins with setting your bets. You may start by setting your preferred coin denomination by clicking on the +/- tabs on the control panel at the bottom of the screen. You may choose a denomination from 0.10 to 100.00. To set the reels into motion, click on the Spin button to the right of the coin denomination tabs. Feature Symbols

True to its theme, the symbols you’ll see on the 8x8 grid of this slot are all Mahjong tiles. You will see tiles from the bams and dots suit, along with four flower tiles. The most valuable of these tiles is the Lotus Flower, which can reward you with as much as 500 times your stake.

There are tiles that reflect the four seasons--Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. These “seasons” will change as you play the game. The season tiles also serve as the game’s Wild symbols. They perform the usual substitution duties of a Wild symbol, while also playing a role in the game’s special features. You will also see blank tiles that serve as secret adjacent symbols in the base game.

Bonus Rounds

The game has a Fortune Frog feature, which makes use of a Fortune Frog meter. Every winning combination contributes to the meter, and the meter can be fully charged if you manage to land 33 winning symbols. If you fail to land any winning combination in a spin, one of the following will be triggered:

Croak - One set of symbols will be chosen to pay wins in Scatter style, instead of as a cluster.

Hope - One symbol is transformed and destroys adjacent symbols.

Spawn - One symbol is randomly transferred to another symbol.

Tongue - Two edges are chosen, and all symbols between those edges are transformed into another symbol.

If you manage to land at least 88 winning symbols, you will overcharge the meter and trigger the Super Charge feature. When this feature is in play, all winning combinations come with a 5x multiplier. You can only charge the Fortune Frog and Super Charge features once per spin.

As mentioned earlier, the four seasons also play a role in the game’s special features. The Wild symbol of each season randomly appears when you don’t land any winning combination. A Wild symbol will be removed if it figures in a win or if the Fortune Frog feature is activated.

Winter Wild - As many as four Wild symbols can appear on the reels and remain there, even if you get a winning combination.

Spring Wild - As many as 12 Wild symbols can randomly appear on the grid.

Summer Wild - As many as five Wild symbols can randomly appear, and adjacent symbols will be destroyed.

Fall Wild - As many as 11 Wild symbols can randomly appear, and other symbols can turn into Wilds or be destroyed from the edges.

All winning combinations you land can contribute to increasing the Season Bonus, which you win when the season changes. A season can change after a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 99 spins.
