Perth, Australia - A man from Perth scored big as he came away with an astounding AU$3.6m (£1.97m; $2.5m) all thanks to a royal flush win.
The incredible feat — which is considered to be Australia’s biggest casino win — happened when the player, who will remain anonymous for security purposes, pulled off a royal flush, which is a poker hand that contains the ace, king, queen, jack, and 10 of the same suit. It is the rarest and highest possible hand. According to a report, the player placed a $15 buy-in at the Crown Perth casino.
Discussing the improbable win, the anonymous man said: “This is Australia’s biggest ever jackpot won on the tables and I am so excited to see that go off here.”
The last time a record was established at the Crown Perth casino was in 2016 when AU$2.7 million (£1.4m; $1.9m) was won, also with a royal flush.
The number of jackpot winners at casinos indicates how a person’s life can change in an instant when in the right place, at the right time, with the right hand.
