It seems that every year, companies everywhere introduce new faces to their roster of high-level officers and gaming companies are no exception. At the start of this year, GAN or GameAccount Network has appointed Karen Flores as its new Chief Finance Officer, taking over the spot that once belonged to Richard Santiago. The post of CFO was vacated by Santiago in the latter part of 2019 and it has been said that his resignation was in order for him to pursue greener pastures elsewhere.
Karen Flores is not new to the industry and to the rigors of the post. She has served as VP of corporate financial planning for Alorica and has around 20 years of experience working in positions similar to this. Other positions she held prior to her appointment as CFO of GAN include SVP for Finance for Maker Studios, which incidentally shows just what she is capable of doing. In that position, she was able to increase the company’s revenues from $2 million to upwards of $200 million.
Her current role at GAN sees her taking charge of strategic planning, finance, treasury, accounting, and tax. She will be holding office in the company’s Irvine offices. When asked about Karen’s movement into the position, company CEO Dermot Smurfit proclaimed that they are happy with her appointment and see her becoming an invaluable part of their business growth. She is expected to help the company continue its great revenue increase streak and to help them achieve both short term and long term goals.
It has been noted that GAN has seen a 189% increase in operator revenue and 95% increase in active player activity. She will be working hand-in-hand with the rest of the company’s management team to continue this uptick and to improve on other areas that need improvement.
